Munching away in Mexico

One absolute highlight of our short stay in the Yucatan has been the delicious and varied food on offer.

Our favourites include:

Chorizo, chicken and peppers in a tomato sauce, served on a thick, pancake-like tortilla with fried banana;

Grouper fish cooked Veracruzana style

With vinaigrette, olives, peppers, picante and tomato;

Ceviche, ceviche, ceviche!

The delicious shrimp, lime, tomato and chilli dip which is served everywhere you go.

Barbecued Wahu fish

Meaty white fish served fresh from the ocean, enough said.

Whole corn on the cob smothered in mayonnaise, Oaxaca cheese and picante and barbecued fresh at street stalls (much nicer than it sounds!)

No surprises there!

Totally different to British tacos, with soft corn shells and meat dripping with flavour.
